Andocor is a Belgian family-owned company that specializes in cardiovascular surgery and anesthesiology. With over two decades of experience, Andocor focuses on the development and production of high-quality cardiac catheters and cannulas, essential tools used during open-heart surgeries. These products are manufactured in state-of-the-art clean rooms that adhere to stringent regulatory standards, ensuring precision and safety. The company’s products are distributed across Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
After operating in the Kempen region for over twenty years, Andocor faced the challenge of expanding beyond its initial location in Zoersel due to space limitations. To accommodate its growth, the company sought to build a new facility on a one-hectare industrial estate in Hoogstraten. They enlisted architect Wilma Wastiau to design a modern industrial building that could incorporate the latest technologies, advanced cleanrooms, as well as sufficient office and storage space. The focus was on achieving a blend of efficiency, aesthetics, and functionality.
The result is a facility with far greater capacity compared to the previous location in Zoersel. Production capacity has increased fivefold, with more extensive storage space and upgraded clean rooms that allow for a significant boost in production. Many processes have been automated and digitized, contributing to operational efficiency. Additionally, the building was constructed using sustainable materials and features modern technologies, such as solar panels and advanced insulation, to manage energy consumption. The integration of the business park's heat network also ensures that Andocor is well-prepared for the future heat transition, further enhancing its sustainability efforts.
